Exxon Mobil has asked air quality officials to let it boost refining operations at its Torrance facility, the LA Times reports. The move comes as Los Angeles-area gas prices increased approximately 6c as a result of refinery woes, the report says. The company's plan includes using an old pollution-control system to temporarily replace one that was damaged in a February explosion, the report says. The equipment is expected to release pollutants at illegal levels, though the proposal includes steps to help reduce emissions, the report says. Reference Link

The analyst, who thinks that weak commodity prices will lead to a mostly "L shaped" recovery, keeps a Hold rating and $75 price target on Caterpillar shares.
