Casey's General Stores reports Dec. prepared food and fountain SSS up 10.8% Casey’s General Stores disclosed in a regulatory filing that its same-store sales for prepared food and fountain increased 10.8%, and grocery and other merchandise increased 2.7% in December 2012 compared to December 2011. Same-store gasoline gallons sold decreased 1.7% in December 2012 compared to December 2011. The gasoline margin was below the company’s fiscal 2013 goal of 14.0 cents per gallon, Casey's said. The average retail price of gasoline sold during December 2012 was $3.11 per gallon.

Reports Q3 same-store gasoline gallons sold were up 3.8% with an average margin of 14.4 cents per gallon. Q3 grocery and other merchandise same-store sales were up 6.5% with an average margin of 31.1%. Q3 prepared food and fountain same-store sales were up 10.7% with an average margin of 60.8%.
