06:04 EDTCAECAE awarded civil aviation training solutions contract valued at about C$120M
CAE announced that it has signed contracts for civil aviation training solutions including seven full-flight simulators, or FFSs, a series of training devices as well as simulator update services to customers in North America, Asia, the Middle East and Eurasia. The contracts are worth a total of approximately C$120M at list prices. List prices include the value of OEM aircraft-specific data, parts and equipment, or DP&E, normally procured by CAE in the manufacture of its simulators. In the case of these contracts, some customers are providing part of the OEM content. These sales bring to eleven the sales announced by CAE in 1Q15, which started April 1.

CAE announced the signing of a historic joint venture agreement, or JV, with Japan Airlines, or JAL, to provide flight crew training services across Northeast Asia, excluding China. Once the training services agreement is signed on March 31, 2015, Japan Airlines will conduct all its training at the CAE-JAL Joint Venture starting in April 2015. This JV will also include training services for third-party customers currently training with CAE in Northeast Asia. The equally-owned JV will initially be comprised of JAL's existing training center located in Tokyo, Japan, as well as CAE's training center in Northeast Asia.
