An unfair labor practice strike by Teamsters at Local 769 in Miami at BlueLinx Corp. has spread to Northern California, where members of Teamsters Local 853 are now honoring picket lines. Local 769 Teamsters were forced to strike Dec. 17 in Florida because of mistreatment by executives at BlueLinx, a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlanta-based BlueLinx Holdings. | |

BlueLinx Holdings announced that George R. Judd will no longer serve as president and CEO of the company, effective May 14. Judd will also resign as a director of BlueLinx following the Annual Meeting of Stockholders to be held on May 16. The board has appointed Howard S. Cohen to serve as executive chairman to facilitate an orderly transition while the board conducts a search for a successor to Judd. Cohen has been a director of the company since 2007 and has served as chairman of the board since 2008. Cohen previously served as Interim CEO from March 2008 through October 2008 and as executive chairman from March 2008 through March 2009. | |
