10:10 EDTORCL, RVBD, BSFT, APKT, AUDC, JNPR, SONSIP traffic optimizers rise after Oracle buys Acme Packet
Several companies whose products enable voice and data to be conducted over Internet Protocol, or IP, networks are climbing after Acme Packet (APKT) agreed to be acquired by Oracle (ORCL) for $29.25 per share. Acme Packet's stock closed at $23.93 per share on Friday. Acme Packet, which announced the deal earlier this morning, develops network products that enable voice and data to be delivered over IP networks. Among the IP optimizers advancing in early trading are Broadsoft (BSFT), which rose 7% to $37.44, Sonus Networks (SONS), which climbed 14% to $2.60, and AudioCodes (AUDC), which added 3% to $4.14. Riverbed (RVBD), which has products that free up bandwidth for voice over IP traffic, added 2.6% to $19.84, and Juniper (JNPR), which offers IP routing products, climbed 2.3% to $22.83.
