RI Research Instruments GmbH, a majority-owned subsidiary of Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies, announced the award of a contract for five radio frequency cavities for the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research, or FAIR, project, valued at approximately $5.8M. The contract includes design and construction of rf cavities with tunable frequencies from 1.1 MHz to 1.5 MHz. These cavities will be delivered over a four-year period and be operated in the collector ring, one of several FAIR synchrotron and storage rings. FAIR will be built at the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany, and represents one of the largest research projects worldwide. |
