Residential Capital, the mortgage arm of Ally Financial, said that it wanted to proceed with its original plan to hold two auctions, one of which will be anchored by a "stalking horse" bid from Fortress Investment Group (FIG), instead of accepting a bid from Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) to buy most of its assets out of bankruptcy, reported The New York Times, citing court documents. Fortressís Board of Directors declared a Q2 cash dividend of 26c per dividend paying share, comprised of a base quarterly cash dividend of 8c per dividend paying share and a special cash dividend of 18c per dividend paying share. The dividend is payable on August 15 to Class A shareholders of record as of the close of business on August 12.
