Baker Hughes announced that the international rig count for February was 1,341, up 16 from the 1,325 counted in January, and up 66 from the 1,275 counted in February 2013. The international offshore rig count for February was 318, up 16 from the 302 counted in January, and down 5 from the 323 counted in February 2013. The average U.S. rig count for February was 1,769, unchanged from the count in January, and up 7 from the 1,762 counted in February 2013. The average Canadian rig count for February was 626, up 122 from the 504 counted in January, and down 16 from the 642 counted in February 2013. The worldwide rig count for February was 3,736, up 138 from the 3,598 counted in January, and up 57 from the 3,679 counted in February 2013.

Baker Hughes says the U.S. Rig Count is down 67 rigs from last week to 1125, with oil rigs down 56 to 866, gas rigs down 11 to 257, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2. Says the U.S. Rig Count is down 684 rigs from last year at 1809, with oil rigs down 595, gas rigs down 87, and miscellaneous rigs down 2. The U.S. Offshore rig count is 48, down 3 rigs from last week, and down 6 rigs year over year. The Canadian Rig Count is down 80 rigs from last week to 220, with oil rigs down 65 to 85, and gas rigs down 15 to 135.
