Barclays will launch a rights issue to raise more than GBP5B and will also unveil details tomorrow on its plan to shrink its balance sheet, reported Financial Times, citing two people briefed on the matter. The moves will leave Barclays with a core tier one capital ratio of around 9.5% under “fully-loaded” incoming Basel III rules, which is more in line with its global peers, the report added.
