In the U.K. in October, the annual rate of inflation jumped, led by increasing university tuition fees, suggesting the central bank is less likely to provide further support for the troubled economy, raising concerns about if consumer spending will drive a recovery in 2013, reports the Wall Street Journal. The Office for National Statistics said consumer prices were up 2.7% on the year in October, the highest rate since May, from 2.2% in September.
