KBR announced that the KD Consortium, consisting of KBR and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, has been awarded a front end engineering design, or FEED, contract by Eni East Africa SpA for a floating liquefied natural gas, or FLNG, facility for the Coral South Development Project located in Mozambique. With the award, the KD consortium will be one of three consortia competing for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract to build the new floating LNG facility for Eni East Africa and its partners to develop the hydrocarbon discovery in the Rovuma Basin in Mozambique.

Ballard Power Systems (BLDP) announced that it has signed a long term supply agreement with Plug Power (PLUG) to provide fuel cell stacks for use in GenDrive systems deployed in forklift trucks. The new supply agreement replaces an existing agreement and creates the opportunity for Ballard to remain in a leading supply position for fuel cell stacks in Plug Power's GenDrive systems. The new agreement is effective immediately and runs to the end of 2017, with the provision for two 1-year extensions.

Measurement Specialties (MEAS) disclosed in a regulatory filing that on October 8 the company and TE Connectivity (TEL) were notified that the French Ministry for Economy and Finance had authorized the proposed transaction. This authorization satisfies the final regulatory approval required for closing, the company noted. The company and TE currently expect to close their merger transaction within the next two business days.
