BAE Systems received a $40M contract from the U.S. Navy to produce canisters used to store, transport and launch a wide range of missiles. The contract has the potential for additional annual contract awards. If all options are exercised, the total value could exceed $400M. The contract’s period of performance is 2013 through 2019 if all options are exercised.

General Dynamics (GD) said it would not ask the congressional Government Accountability Office to rule on a U.S. Army vehicle competition that it says is skewed to favor its rival, Britain's BAE Systems (BAESY), according to Reuters, citing a statement from a General Dynamics spokesman. The spokesman said, "We will continue to discuss the AMPV program with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Congress. We do not believe a GAO protest is the right forum for this issue and we will not file one." Reference Link

Southwest Airlines (LUV) has selected BAE Systems (BAESY) as its exclusive provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the full authority digital engine controls on more than 450 737 Next Generation aircraft. Under the five-year agreement, BAE Systems will provide proactive repairs that will improve the availability and reliability of Southwest’s fleet.
