Raytheon has been awarded a $700M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the North American Aerospace Defense Command Cheyenne Mountain Complex. Contractor will provide sustainment services and products supporting the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment, or ITW/AA, and Space Support Contract covered systems. The program provides ITW/AA authorities with accurate, timely and unambiguous warning and attack assessment of air, missile and space threats. Work will be performed at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado; Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Colorado; Vandenberg Air Force Base, California; and Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, and is expected to be complete by March 30, 2020. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition with two offers received. No funds are being obligated at the time of award.

BAE Systems will significantly expand dry-docking capabilities at its San Diego shipyard, enhancing the ship repair, maintenance, and modernization services the company provides to the U.S. Navy, other government agencies, and commercial customers. The investment by BAE Systems, which will include the purchase of a new dry dock and a range of infrastructure improvements at the yard, will total approximately $100M. The new Pier 4, at 415-feet long and 64-feet wide, replaces a 52-year-old pier and includes new services such as fresh water, electrical, sewage, and storm water containment. The new dry dock will measure 950-feet long and 205-feet wide, with a design lifting capacity of 55,000 tons. When operational in early 2017, it will be the company’s largest dry dock in the United States and will employ several environmental design features, including LED lighting, electric cranes, air-cooled emergency generators, a zero discharge closed-loop salt water system, and storm water recovery systems.

Raytheon (RTN) has been awarded a contract valued at up to $45.7M by Northrop Grumman (NOC) Aerospace Systems for ground segments in support of four Global Hawk unmanned aircraft systems recently purchased by the Republic of Korea. Under this contract, Raytheon will deliver one building-based and one mobile ground segment to locations in South Korea. Work under the contract will be performed at Raytheon's Dulles, Va., facility and is expected to be completed by mid-2019.

Contractor will provide multiple Sniper advanced targeting pods including initial spares, 1K forward-looking infrareds, and two-way data links. It also includes other items as specified in the contract. Work will be performed at Orlando, Florida, and is expected to be complete by March 26, 2018. This contract involves foreign military sales. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting activity.

The National Labor Relations Board approved an agreement between the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, or IAM, and Boeing that establishes the date, time, duration and eligible voters for a union representation election among more than 3,000 workers at Boeing’s 787 production facility in North Charleston, SC, the IAM announced last night. According to the agreement, which was facilitated by the NLRB and is known as a stipulated election agreement, the one-day election is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 22, at five separate locations on Boeing’s North Charleston campus, the IAM stated.
