11:42 EDTBA, UALBoeing delivers United Airlines' first 787 Dreamliner
Boeing (BA) and United Airlines (UAL) announced the delivery of the airline's first 787 Dreamliner. United is the first airline in North America to take delivery of the 787. United will initially use the 787 on international routes to Africa, Asia and Europe. The airline will conduct temporary domestic flights before transitioning its 787 fleet to international service in late 2012. This delivery marks the first of 50 Dreamliners that United has on order.

United Airlines (UAL) announced a capacity purchase agreement for SkyWest Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyWest (SKYW), to operate 40 Embraer (ERJ) 175 aircraft under the United Express brand. SkyWest will purchase the 40 76-seat aircraft with deliveries in 2014 and 2015. These aircraft are in addition to 30 Embraer 175 aircraft that United previously announced it will purchase and which will be operated by a United Express carrier, also scheduled for delivery between 2014 and 2015.
