Missouri American Water, a subsidiary of American Water (AWK), has acquired the Meramec Sewer Company, serving customers in Fenton, Mo. The system adds about 540 new wastewater customers to the company's customer base. The Missouri Public Service Commission approved the application for ownership on February 20. The system was purchased for approximately $500,000.

American Water Works Company announced that its Military Services Group has been awarded a contract for ownership, operation and maintenance of the water and the wastewater systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. According to the agreement the award is estimated at a gross amount of approximately $297M over a 50-year period. The contract will be subject to annual economic price adjustments.
