Avista and certain other parties in the company's electric and natural gas rate case filings have reached a settlement agreement that, if approved by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, or WUTC, would conclude the general rate requests filed on April 2. The new rates would take effect on Jan. 1, 2013 and Jan. 1, 2014. In addition to Avista, the parties to the proposed settlement are the Staff of the WUTC, Northwest Industrial Gas Users, Industrial Customers of Northwest Utilities and The Energy Project, a low-income customer advocacy group. The parties' request to approve the settlement is not binding on the Commission. The Public Counsel Section of the Washington Office of the Attorney General and the Northwest Energy Coalition did not join in the Settlement Agreement. | |
