Ashland (ASH) announced that it has established 10b5-1 plans with each of Deutsche Bank (DB) Securities and JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., (JPM) to repurchase an aggregate of $250M of Ashland's common stock. These plans are part of Ashland's previously announced $1.35B share repurchase authorization and are in addition to the $750M accelerated share repurchase programs announced earlier this week.

Several banks are said to plan to plead guilty and pay "billions" in fines in a settlement over their roles in foreign exchange manipulation that is expected to be announced Wednesday, according to CNBC's Kate Kelly. Prior media reports have listed Barclays (BCS), Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), UBS (UBS), JPMorgan (JPM) and Citigroup (C) as having been in talks with U.K. and U.S. authorities for their roles in foreign currency rigging.

The board of Ashland has approved a nearly 15% increase in the company's quarterly cash dividend. Ashland's board raised the quarterly dividend on the company's common stock from 34c per share to 39c per share, equivalent to an annual dividend of $1.56 per share. The quarterly dividend is payable June 15, to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 29.

The banks are also expected to plead guilty to criminal antitrust violations, but it is not anticipated that their operations will be significantly affected as a result of those pleas, the newspaper stated.
