A team including Apollo Global (APO) and C. Dean Metropoulos is in the lead for the opening bid on the bulk of Hostess’ cakes businesses, but Hostess is aiming to sell the Drakes Cakes brand separately, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing sources. The WSJ previously reported that Flowers Foods (FLO) and Grupo Bimbo are in the lead to buy Hostess' bread brands, including Wonder Bread. Reference Link

Apollo Global is in advanced talks to acquire Presidio in a deal that could value the company at close to $1.3B, reports reuters. According to people familiar with the matter, Apollo had outbid other buyout firms and Sirius Computer Solutions in the auction for the information technology consulting company. Flowers Foods says its board increased the company's share repurchase authorization by 7.1M shares. At the close of the company's Q3, 7.9M shares remained under the existing authorization. With the board's action today, the current authorization increases to 15M shares.
