Before reaching a deal with Hale Global on its Patch business, AOL (AOL) shopped Patch to Gannett (GCI), Tribune (TRBAA) and others, sources tell Fox Business News reports. People with direct knowledge of the situation say that even though AOL was eager to offload Patch, negotiations were moving slowly, and the media companies were "skeptical about Patch's ability to eventually turn a profit".
