comScore U.S. retail e-commerce spending for the first 23 days of the November December 2012 holiday season. For the holiday season-to-date, $13.7B has been spent online, marking a 16% increase versus the corresponding days last year. Black Friday (November 23) saw $1.042B in online sales, making it the heaviest online spending day to date in 2012 and representing a 26-percent increase versus Black Friday 2011. Thanksgiving Day (November 22), while traditionally a lighter day for online holiday spending, achieved a strong 32% to $633M. Reference Link

Goldman Sachs upgraded Best Buy to Buy from Neutral saying a pick-up in advanced TV sales and good sector fundamentals should drive better than expected Q4 results. Goldman also thinks shares will react favorably to any capital allocation decisions made by management given the retailer's "hefty" cash position. It raised its price target for shares to $45 from $38. Best Buy closed yesterday up $1.03 to $39.09.
