08:10 EDTAMSCChina's China's Supreme People's Court to hear AMSC's case against Sinovel
AMSC announced that China's Supreme People's Court has scheduled a hearing for May 29 to review the jurisdiction of AMSC's software copyright infringement cases against Sinovel Wind Group and Guotong Electric. During the proceedings, the court is expected to review the jurisdiction of AMSC's civil action filed against Sinovel in the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court as well as AMSC's civil action filed against Sinovel and Guotong Electric in the Hainan Province No. 1 Intermediate People's Court. These are two of the four legal cases that AMSC brought against Sinovel in late 2011 regarding Sinovel's contractual breaches and AMSC's discovery of intellectual property theft by Sinovel. AMSC is also engaged in a commercial arbitration case and a trade secrets case against Sinovel in China.

Nokia Siemens Networks (NOK, SI) and Intel (INTC) announced they signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate around the development of Liquid Applications, an approach to accelerate the delivery of media-rich services and content directly from the base station. The intent of the collaboration is to accelerate development of an enhanced mobile broadband experience that gives operators new revenue and differentiation opportunities. Nokia Siemens Networks and Intel will collaborate in the creation of a mobile edge computing ecosystem, focusing on over-the-top content providers, independent software vendors and application service providers. The parties will also explore new business models between mobile operators and other ecosystem players, they said.

GE announced that the board of GE Capital Corporation, or GECC, had approved plans for GECC to pay $6.5Bin dividends in 2013 to GE. Earnings-dividend payments, which are subject to GECC Board and GE Board Risk Committee approvals, are planned at 30% of GECC's total 2013 earnings. GECC paid the first-quarter earnings-dividend of $447M to GE on April 19, 2013. In addition, GECC plans $4.5B in special dividends to GE in 2013, subject to the same approvals. Under its balanced capital allocation plan of investing for its long-term growth, maintaining an attractive dividend pay-out and repurchasing stock, GE plans to return $18B cash to its shareholders in 2013, including repurchase of $10B of stock.
