18:23 EDTAIG, MANT, IM, VLOBarron's highlights four value plays in spite of investor worries
Barron's pointed out four Unloved but Worth a Look. They are priced for the worst, and poised to outperform. With broad market indexes approaching all-time highs, plenty of stocks are priced at levels that suggest deep investor anxiety. That leaves such stocks poised to rise even on ho-hum financial results. For stock-pickers, the four companies listed here have price-to-earnings ratios in single digits and sell for less than book value: American International Group (AIG) offers reduced risk now that its Treasury stake is mostly sold. Ingram Micro (IM) is adding more lucrative products. ManTech International (MANT) because Tech spending likely to hold up. And, Valero Energy (VLO) as the heavy/light oil spread is likely to widen.
