Warren Buffett said he was given two opportunities to come to the aid of AIG (AIG) last year, several days before the U.S. government intervened to prop up the troubled insurer. Buffett said he had refused a request from AIG to bid on part of the insurer’s U.S. property-casualty operation. Another possible deal involving Buffett collapsed when a cash injection by a private consortium fell through, the billionaire added. Reference Link | |
