Warren Buffett said he was given two opportunities to come to the aid of AIG (AIG) last year, several days before the U.S. government intervened to prop up the troubled insurer. Buffett said he had refused a request from AIG to bid on part of the insurerís U.S. property-casualty operation. Another possible deal involving Buffett collapsed when a cash injection by a private consortium fell through, the billionaire added. Reference Link

Dako, an Agilent Technologies (A) company, announced a new Master Collaboration Agreement with Amgen (AMGN). The expanded collaboration will allow both companies to benefit from knowledge-sharing within the field of drug-diagnostic research and development in general, and in relation to companion diagnostic products in particular. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
