Armada Hoffler Properties announced that it will develop a grocery-anchored shopping center in Williamsburg, Virginia as part of a joint venture partnership in which the company is the majority partner. This multi-phased project is a redevelopment of the Williamsburg Outlet Mall with the completion of phase one, consisting of approximately 88,000 square feet, expected in early 2016. The company has signed a 20-year lease for approximately 53,000 square feet with Harris Teeter, which will anchor an additional 35,000 square feet of shops and restaurants. The company expects to begin construction on phase one in the third quarter of 2014. Phase two represents an opportunity to develop another 42,000 square feet in the future.

Armada Hoffler announced that it has closed on the previously announced acquisition of Providence Plaza in Charlotte, North Carolina for $26.2M. Providence Plaza is a 103,000 square foot mixed-use asset which was built in 2008 and is comprised of three buildings. The complex is currently 97% occupied and includes 54,000 square feet of office space, 49,000 square feet of retail space and a two-floor parking garage with 256 spaces. In addition, the recently acquired property includes an undeveloped tract of land of approximately one acre that is zoned for multifamily development, providing the Company the opportunity to leverage its development expertise. The previously announced acquisition of Providence Plaza was partially funded with the proceeds from the Whetstone Apartments sale and is included in the Company's current guidance.
