CSC announced that its company, DynPort Vaccine Company, received a follow-on contract to continue supporting the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health. Valued at up to $90M, the award is a 10-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to support and conduct Phase 1 clinical trials of infectious disease therapeutics.

The Babcock & Wilcox Company announced that its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, has been chosen to design and manufacture a supercritical coal-fired boiler and selective catalytic reduction system for the Duyen Hai 3 Extension power plant in Vietnam. The selection was made by Japanese prime contractor Sumitomo Corporation, which will build the 688 megawatt plant for its customer, Power Generation Corporation 1, a subsidiary of Electricity Vietnam. B&W has received a full notice to proceed and the project was booked in the fourth quarter of 2014. Engineering is underway and the plant is scheduled for commercial operation in mid 2018.

Aetna is being investigated by the U.S. for misleading elderly and disabled people about which pharmacies would fill prescriptions in Medicare drug plans the health insurer sold them, says Bloomberg. According to the Bloomberg report, customers will be able to quit their coverage and choose a new plan this year as a result. Raymond Thorn, a spokesman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said Aetna may be fined or prohibited from enrolling new Medicare customers if the agency determines it intentionally misled Medicare patients, added Bloomberg. Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini will meet with investors and analysts before and after a presentation at the 2015 J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference and report that the company projects that its year-end 2014 total medical membership will exceed its previously disclosed projection of approximately 23.4M members, Aetna disclosed. Bertolini will also report that, based on results of the Medicare Annual Election Period and the Individual Public Health Insurance Exchange open enrollment period to date, Aetna projects that its 1Q15 Medicare Advantage and Individual Public Exchange membership will exceed its previous projections.
