07:10 EDTACMAECOM joint venture awarded multi-million-dollar project
AECOM Technology announced that a joint venture between AECOMís Australian business and Aurecon Design has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract to deliver a component of the required design services for the $1.07B Moreton Bay Rail project in Australia. Drawing on AECOMís business experience in Australia as part of the successful Trackstar Alliance, Thiess has engaged the joint venture to undertake the design services contract for civil and structural works. Once complete, the Moreton Bay Rail project will provide a 7.8-mile dual-track passenger rail line between Petrie and Kippa-Ring, and six new rail stations at Kallangur, Murrumba Downs, Mango Hill, Mango Hill East, Rothwell and Kippa-Ring. The six new stations will also include commuter parking, park and ride, bus connectivity and facilities to encourage active transport. Design work for the project has already commenced, with major construction expected to start in early 2014 and the new line scheduled to be operational in 2016.
