Lupin Pharmaceuticals has launched its Fenofibrate Tablets, 48 mg and 145 mg strengths in the United States. Lupin had earlier received final approval for the same from the FDA. Lupin's Fenofibrate tablets are the AB rated generic equivalent of Abbott's Tricor tablets and are indicated for Primary Hypercholesterolemia or Mixed Dyslipidemia and Severe Hypertriglyceridemia. Abbott's Tricor Tablets, 48 mg and 145 mg had sales of $1.26B as per IMS Health, June, 2012.
