Lazard Capital says it makes sense to assume that TiVo (TIVO) received favorable terms in its settlement with Google's (GOOG) Motorola as it had no reason to settle for less. The firm estimates the settlement will be worth a pre-tax NPV of $807M, or $484M after-tax, equal to $3.44 per TiVo share. Lazard Capital says shares of TiVo are likely to move near its $17 price target should its settlement assumptions prove right.

TiVo (TIVO) settled a patent lawsuit with Google's (GOOG) Motorola Mobility unit that was set to go to trial next week, reports Bloomberg, citing a clerk in the trial judge's chambers. Shares of TiVo spiked higher following the news, closing up $1.05, or 8.29%, to $13.71. Reference Link
