Apple has agreed to pay for all the music carried on its new streaming music service during free trials, reports the Financial Times. The company signaled the climbdown after singer Taylor Sift released an open letter Sunday that denounced Apple Music as "shocking" and "disappointing.", adding that her views were shared by "every artist, writer and producer" in her social circles. The company will now pay for the music it streams during free trials, though it would pay less for each stream than it will when a user has taken a full subscription. Reference Link

Goldman Sachs analyst Mark Delaney downgraded Micron Technology to Sell saying rising DRAM supply will lower selling prices and contract margins. Delaney expects DRAM prices to drop up to 30% over the next three quarters and cut his price target for shares to $19 from $27. The semiconductor provider closed Friday at $24.47.

An Apple spokesman has denied allegations that it is threatening to remove music from its iTunes store by artists who do not sign up for the Apple Music service, reports Rolling Stone. A company spokesman said "It will not be taken off". As previously reported, Topeka upgraded Micron to Buy from Hold and increased its price target to $34 from $30. The firm came away from an investor site visit incrementally more confident regarding PC demand and related DRAM pricing. Topeka's analyst believes Micron is at or ahead of plan on its 20nm DRAM ramp and will be able to keep DRAM capex flattish. In NAND, Micron is making steady TLC 3D NAND progress and expects gross margin improvement over the next several quarters. Topeka expects investor confidence in Micron's ability to sustain margins though cycles to increase over the next couple quarters as Micron executes.

Tesla Motors has won a $15M tax break from the state of California, the L.A. Times reports. The California Governorís Office of Business and Economic Development voted to include the auto maker among more than 60 companies that will share in an almost $50M tax break package, the report says. Tesla said it will use the money to add over 4,000 new jobs to its Bay Area factories and plants, enough jobs to make it the largest manufacturing employer in the state of California, the L.A. Oppenheimer analyst Jason Helfstein raised his 12-18 month price target for shares of Netflix to $800 from $610. The streaming service closed yesterday up $3.30 to $663.20. The new target reflects the company's plans to enter Japan, Cuba, Spain, Italy and Portugal, all in 2015, the analyst tells investors this morning in a research note. Helfstein's revised model assumes global subscribers of 239M in 2020, equaling 32% penetration of broadband homes, which the analyst says is consistent with Netflix's 2015 rates in older markets. He reiterates an Outperform rating on the stock.

After Teva (TEVA) announced data for its TEV-48125 drug in episodic migraine, Bernstein notes that the drug met its primary and secondary endpoints. The firm says that the reduction in migraine days of Teva's drug appears to be higher than what Amgen (AMGN) and Lilly (LLY) have shown. The firm continues to see the migraine treatments from Teva and Alder as better than those from Lilly and Amgen.

Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington has renewed her contract for four years, The New York Times reports. Huffington, whose contract had expired this year and had not signed a new one amid uncertainty surrounding the pending acquisition of Huffington Post parent AOL (AOL) by Verizon (VZ), will remain chairwoman, president and editor-in-chief of the publication.
