Credit Suisse analyst Dan Galves said Tesla shares are "much cheaper" now than they were when they hit their all-time high in September 2014, noting that near-term risks for the auto business have been lowered substantially and he sees "substantially" more upside as possible for the stock. Galves expects Tesla to deliver 11,000-11,500 vehicles in Q2, topping the company's estimate for 10,000-11,000 deliveries, and believes the lower-end Model S70D will lead to an uptick in deliveries in the second half of the year. Galves keeps an Outperform rating on the stock and raised the firm's price target for Tesla to $325 from $290, adding that he thinks valuations as high as about $400 are possible over the next 12-18 months.

Jefferies analyst Dan Dolev raised his price target for Tesla shares to $360 from $350 after surveying 145 owners of the company's electric cars. The stock closed yesterday down $2.50 to $265.17. 06:27 EDTGMGeneral Motors downgraded to Neutral from Buy at Goldman
Goldman downgraded General Motors (GM) to Neutral and lowered its price target to $40 from $47 due to a weakness in China and softening US profit momentum. The firm's recent dealer visits in China indicate increased promotional activity and net price deterioration to support Shanghai GM JV product sales. Goldman said this, combined with margin pressure, will likely lead to a reduction in China guidance. For North America, the firm said Q1 carryover product pressure has extended into Q2 and could be pressured further with full availability of Ford's (F) F-150 heading into 2H 2015.
06:26 EDTFFord upgraded to Buy from Neutral at Goldman
Goldman upgraded Ford to Buy and increased its price target to $19 from $18. The firm expects earnings momentum to accelerate in 2H and into 2016 driven by full production of the new F-150 and further market share gains following the launch of the Super Duty. Goldman expects positive pricing and low levels of relative incentives with its refreshed products. Further, Goldman expects Ford's position in China to continue to improve given strong product launch tempo.

Regarding the company's touted sales target of 800,000 annual vehicle sales by 2018, Horn said the 2018 goal "is still a relevant objective... 16:24 EDTGMOn The Fly: Top stock stories for Thursday
Stocks began the session in positive territory, adding to the late day move yesterday that followed Fed comments about the central bank's plans to raise benchmark interest rates gradually. Today's rally was broad based, as all 10 S&P sectors were in positive ground and the Nasdaq closed at a new all-time high. There were the usual headlines concerning Greece, but for at least one day, the U.S. market was able to ignore the European noise. ECONOMIC EVENTS: In the U.S., the consumer prices index rose 0.4% in the month of May, versus expectations for a 0.5% increase. The core reading, which removes food and energy prices, rose 0.1%, versus the expected increase of 0.2%. Initial jobless claims dipped 12,000 to 267,000 in the week ended June 13, versus expectations for 277,000 first-time claims. The Philadelphia Fed manufacturing survey climbed 8.5 points to 15.2 in June, topping expectations for a reading of 8. The leading indicators rose 0.7% to 123.1 in May, topping expectations for a rise of 0.4%. In Europe, International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde reportedly said Greece won’t be given a grace period if it fails to make its scheduled payment to the fund on June 30. Meanwhile, finance ministers of euro area member states met today, after which Agence France-Presse reported that the talks ended with no deal on Greece. Bloomberg subsequently said that euro leaders plan to hold a summit to discuss Greece this coming Monday. COMPANY NEWS: Shares of Oracle (ORCL) dropped $2.17, or 4.84%, to $42.74 after the enterprise software, hardware and IT services provider reported lower than expected fourth quarter earnings per share and gave a lower than expected forecast for profit in its new quarter... General Motors (GM) announced that Fitch has raised the credit ratings of both GM and GM Financial to investment grade, meaning the corporate credit ratings for GM are now investment grade with all major rating agencies. Meanwhile, Reuters reported, citing several sources familiar with the matter, that the automaker has hired Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS) to advise it as Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) CEO Sergio Marchionne attempts to gain the support of GM investors with the goal of forcing merger discussions with GM's board... Fitness tracker maker Fitbit (FIT) surged 48.4% to close at $29.68 in its first day of public trading. The company priced its initial public offering at $20 per share, topping expectations, and its closing price gives it a market value near $6B. MAJOR MOVERS: Among the notable gainers was Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO), which rose $1.35, or 26.27%, to $6.44 after The Wall Street Journal reported the company was nearing a deal to be acquired by Sequential Brands (SQBG), though the Journal said it was unable to learn the terms of the potential deal being discussed. Sequential Brands (SQBG) shares added 12.4% to close at $16.04 following the report. Also higher was Radius Health (RDUS), which gained $7.81, or 15.1%, to $59.54 after the company announced results from the six-month extension study for abaloparatide, its experimental treatment for osteoporosis. Among the noteworthy losers was Bankrate (RATE), which fell $2.60, or 18.77%, to $11.25 and was downgraded to Neutral from Buy at SunTrust after the company's revenue outlook came in well below the consensus forecast. 16:51 EDTHMCHonda statement on recall of certain Takata front airbag inflators
Honda announced that it will initiate a national recall to replace, free of charge, Takata passenger front airbag inflators installed in certain 2001-2005 Civic and 2003-2007 Accord models sold in the United States following a recently announced defect determination by Takata. The recall will add 1.39 million passenger front airbag inflators not previously subject to either a recall or safety improvement campaign .In its preliminary announcement on May 28, Honda stated that it would recall a more limited population of vehicles. That announcement, which was based on the specific regional nature of the defect determination made by Takata, indicated that approximately 350,000 additional passenger front airbag inflators would be added to inflators included in an earlier regional action . However, the NHTSA subsequently interpreted the Takata defect determination as requiring a national recall and directed Honda to conduct a national recall. As a result, based on the Takata defect determination and the NHTSA's subsequent directive, Honda decided to conduct a national recall that will include approximately 1.39M inflators not previously subject to recall or safety improvement campaign (this includes the estimated 350,000 inflators mentioned in the preliminary announcement). According to currently available information, this results in a total of approximately 2.3M passenger front airbag inflators now requiring replacement in this action.Importantly, approximately 915,000 of the affected Civic and Accord vehicles included in existing passenger front airbag inflator recalls and Honda's voluntary safety improvement campaigns will transition into the new recall. The same free repair - replacement of the passenger front airbag inflator - will be completed under the new national action.

10:34 EDTAAPLMicron declines after another analyst says sell
The shares of memory makers Micron (MU) and SanDisk (SNDK) are falling after Morgan Stanley downgraded both stocks in a note to investors earlier today. MICRON: Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore downgraded Micron to Underweight, the firm's equivalent of a "sell" rating, from Equal Weight. Moore said that his checks in Taiwan indicate that the outlook for DRAM, a form of flash memory sold by Micron, is "cautious versus expectations" for the third quarter. Previously, the analyst had expected DRAM to experience a seasonal boost in Q3, but he now expects this lift to be delayed until at least Q4. Moreover, DRAM prices will probably stay weak through Q3 as customers' inventories of DRAM are excessive, while sales of PC DRAM will probably remain weak in Q3 and could stay low in Q4, the analyst stated. Moore is concerned that DRAM supply could exceed expectations in 2016, while demand for the product could decelerate next year. Micron could have difficulty improving its earnings in 2016 from current levels, warned the analyst, who set a $21 price target on the shares. WHAT'S NOTABLE: On June 9, after conducting checks in Taiwan, research firm Piper Jaffray predicted that PC DRAM prices would continue to decline. However, the firm kept an Overweight rating on Micron, citing its belief that the stock's valuation was "compelling." Much more pessimistic was research firm Drexel Hamilton, which on June 9 cut its rating on Micron to Sell from Hold, DRAM price declines are likely to continue, the firm predicted. SANDISK: On SanDisk, Moore believes that the company will have trouble recovering from declines in purchases of its products by Apple (AAPL). Various technological issues will prevent it from selling its products to other smartphone makers, the analyst stated. Meanwhile, SanDisk is unlikely to find alternative buyers for its SSD memory, since it is not widely used, added Moore. As a result, SandDsk will have to charge lower prices for its products, according to Moore, who downgraded SanDisk to Equal Weight from Overweight and lowered his price target on shares to $75 from $80. PRICE ACTION: In early trading, Micron fell 4.5% to $24 and SanDisk gave back 3.3% to $63.90.

06:40 EDTEADSYAirbus raises 20-year forecast for jet demand
In the next 20 years, according to Airbus’ Global Market Forecast, global passenger traffic will grow at an average 4.6% a year, driving a need for some 32,600 new aircraft above 100 seats -- 1,800 passenger and 800 freighters greater than 10 tonnes -- worth $4.9T. By 2034, passenger and freighter fleets will more than double from today’s 19,000 aircraft to 38,500. Some 13,100 passenger and freighter aircraft will be replaced with more fuel efficient types. Asia-Pacific will lead in world traffic by 2034 and China will be the world’s biggest aviation market within 10 years, and clearly Asia and emerging markets are the catalyst for strong air traffic growth,” said John Leahy, Airbus COO, Customers. “Today, we are ramping up production of the A350 XWB and we are studying further production rate increases beyond rate 50 for single aisle aircraft to meet the increasing demand for air transportation.” Long-haul traffic will increasingly be to, from or between aviation mega-cities*, rising from 90% today to 95% by 2034. Aviation mega-cities are centres of urbanisation and wealth creation and will increase from 47 to 91 cities by 2034 with 35% of World GDP centred there. These mega cities are already served well by air transportation and the existing route network will accommodate 70% of all traffic growth between now and 2034. In the widebody market, Airbus forecasts a trend towards higher capacity aircraft on long-haul and an increasingly wide range of regional and domestic sectors. As a result, Airbus forecasts a requirement for some 9,600 widebody passenger and freighter aircraft over the next 20 years, valued at some $2.7T. This represents 30% of all new aircraft deliveries and 55% by value. Airbus will be especially well placed to win a leading share of the widebody market, with the A330, A350 and A380 representing the most modern and comprehensive product line available today from 200 to over 500 seats. In the single aisle market, where the A320 Family and the latest generation A320neo Family are firmly established as the global market leaders, the latest Airbus forecast sees a requirement for nearly 23,000 new aircraft worth $2.2T over the next 20 years, an increase of nearly 1,000 aircraft compared to the previous forecast, representing 70% of all new units and 45% of the value of all deliveries.
